Design Innovations is a division of G. D. Johnston Corporation and is an Interior Design firm known for its personal approach when considering design needs. Design Innovations was established in 1987, when Gwendy Johnston, owner and designer graduated from the University of Georgia in design. She started building a client base in the late 80‘s and early 90‘s while working as a sub contractor for John Weiland Homes designing model homes. Gwendy has since, built a lengthy client base. She has worked mostly in the Atlanta area, although has also traveled for several clients to Athens, Florida, Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Gwendy strives to have each design reflect her clients own personal style and tastes. She is very successful at learning her clients lifestyle and preferences, so that each design uniquely reflects her clients’ personalities and meets their design needs for function and aesthetics. Gwendy values life’s true treasure which is the gift of relationship, and strives to build honest, authentic relationships with not only her clients, but also the artisans with whom she works. She works within any scope of project, whether it is redecorating one room or working on a complete design build, always keeping in mind budget and design.

My desire as your designer is to help you build a comfortable, inviting sanctuary where you can live, work, entertain, escape and enjoy for many years. Your home should reflect you and your family, and I am passionate about creating unique and useful spaces out of every square inch of your home. Whether you have gracious, sprawling rooms, or tight, cozy spaces, I will work with you and your family in developing a custom design encompassing a keen balance of casual yet elegant living.
